Hello~! My name is Laeyra ✦ Nova and I am a digital artist & illustrator living and working in the Southeastern United States.

I have been drawing earnestly since I was in grade school, when I received my first digital tablet (a Wacom Graphire2) and I’ve spent the majority of my life since then combatting the blank canvas across many mediums. As a student, I studied traditional fine arts as well as animation and turned those studies into a career in the animation industry.

However, from the beginning of my art journey I always had the idea that I would one day write my own comic - and not a short one, oh no, an epic length one. And to do that, I needed a story. I was the type of kid who never did well in writing classes even though I was a voracious reader and I knew that if I wanted to tell my own stories, I would need to work on that. So I spent all of my 20’s learning what kind of stories I wanted to tell. The conclusion I came to was that there are a few points that were important to me - 1) My story must have a female protagonist that goes on grand adventures and 2) it needs to be magical.

At the lowest points in my life, I’ve always needed a bit of magic to inspire me. And when I finally sat down to write “Where the Earth & Sky Meet”, I knew the story I wanted to tell was about the tired world-weary version of me who I knew still had the potential to do great things. I think we all have this same story in our lives and it’s my hope that I can add a little sparkle to it and inspire others to keep pushing onwards toward their own destinies. 

“Where the Earth & Sky Meet” has been a passion project of mine that is many years in the making - a seed which was planted in high school and has spent all of my 20’s germinating, now finally coming to blossom. I hope you’ll enjoy yourself while reading this comic and listening to my experiences while creating it! It truly means the world to me.
